Does creating a profile guarantee me a job?
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee of a job. What we can guarantee is that if you complete a full profile, that profile will be made available to employers searching for candidates like you. Revolution’s system also offers you opportunities to express your interest to employers in certain cases. At the end of the day, being an active member of the Revolution network will give you a head start on the job hunt.
How long will this process take?
There is no one answer to this question. Employers approach hiring in very different ways, with large employers sometimes contacting candidates many months before their first day, and smaller employers sometimes looking for new hires to start work in the next couple of weeks. Our best advice is to be patient, have as many conversations with potential employers as you can, and look for opportunities that seem like you can sink your teeth into them.
How can Revolution help me get a job?
Revolution lets you show employers who you really are. Employers then search our network of candidates and connect with potential hires through the Site. That process is much easier when you are engaged, so be sure to complete your profile and keep an eye out for new messages from employers. When one arrives, you'll receive a notification at the email address you provided, and then sign in to read it.
Can you tell me what are the best industries or job functions for me?
You’ll be able to answer this question partially by paying attention to the kinds of positions that are “finding” you through our system. We also recommend that you do some research and talk to contacts you may have in industries that are of interest. That will give you a sense of what employees in those industries actually do on a day to day basis. Look for something that makes you happy and lets you spend as much time as possible doing what you do best. If you are a student, find your school’s career center and talk to someone there.
What if I want to work for an employer that is not a Revolution partner?
Revolution is constantly working to bring more employers into our network. However, until we take over the whole world, we know that there will be employers with whom we do not yet work. Tell us who they are and tell them about Revolution by sending a link to your profile when you apply for jobs. Employers who receive a link to your profile will be able to access all of the valuable information you have made available.
When is the best time to create my Revolution Careers profile?
There is no “right time” to get started. Generally, there is no advantage to waiting, since you can always update your profile, and the longer you are active on the Site, the more time there is for employers to find and contact you.
Can I get a job if I am already out of school?
Absolutely. Revolution does not exclude anyone, and many employers use Revolution to find both entry-level and experienced hires. You can use Revolution Careers to show employers your experience and your strengths as an employee.
How will interested employers contact me?
When an employer identifies you as a candidate with potential, you will normally get a message from that employer through our website. You will receive an email from us notifying you, and in most cases, you’ll be asked to indicate your interest in the position that the employer is trying to fill. After that, the employer will let you know the next step, which may be a phone interview, an in-person interview, or some other form of interaction. The rest is up to you!
Where does Revolution offer job opportunities?
Revolution is based in California, but there is no geographical limit on where our employers hire, nor on where our users live. We’ll ask you to identify where you would be willing to work, and you will be viewable as a candidate to employers in the locations you choose. Revolution is dedicated to providing as many opportunities as possible, and we are constantly working to expand the diversity of participating employers both in terms of career opportunities and geography.
